General introduction of Méribel
At the heart of the biggest skiing domain in the world, les 3 Vallées, Méribel opens up its 600 km of runs for unforgettable times.
The Mériel ski resort is in the vallée des Allues in Savoie.
Les 3 Vallées are : The Saint-Bon-Tarentaise valley (Courchevel, le Praz, la Tania), Belleville valley (Les Menuires, Val Thorens, St-Martin-de-Belleville) and finally the vallée des Allues where Méribel spreads from the altitude of 1450 to 1700 meters.
Some history now, the resort was founded by Peter Lindsay, a Scottish businessman who fell under the many charms of the valley on his first trip there in 1936. Following this "coup de foudre" (love at first sight) he decided to invest and develop a ski resort, employing the best architects to be true to the savoyard style.
Right now Méribel is the French resort with the most gondola lifts (16). Méribel also has 19 chairlifts, 14 drag-lifts, 8 telebabies and 1 moving walkway.
The natural environnement is particularly agreeable and ideal to spend a dream trip to the mountain. Activities are numerous in the resort. Méribel's restaurants will delight you with Savoie's culinary specialties. Night clubs, hotels and rental chalets will enhance your stay with a comfortable way of life after an eventful day of ski.
Beyond winter activities, Méribel also gives you the choice to use the following infrastructures: a golf course, a pool, an ice rink, an altiport...
